ALSILI – Elegance and Lightness in Every Strand

ALSILI is the sister yarn of ALSILI Fingering, sharing its exquisite composition of 50% baby alpaca, 25% linen, and 25% mulberry silk, but with an intermediate weight between sport and DK (250m/100g). This fiber blend offers a unique experience: the enveloping softness of baby alpaca, the structure and freshness of linen, and the subtle sheen of mulberry silk, creating a sophisticated and versatile yarn.

The rusticity of linen is balanced by the warmth of alpaca, resulting in a pleasant texture to the touch and excellent thermal insulation—ideal for lightweight, breathable garments in spring and summer. Its elegant drape and natural luminosity make ALSILI the perfect choice for airy shawls, transitional sweaters, and textured pieces with well-defined stitches.

If you’re looking for a finer version for your projects, ALSILI Fingering offers the same harmonious fiber blend in a lighter weight. With ALSILI, every stitch is filled with character, softness, and a subtle glow that enhances any creation.

During the dyeing process each of the fibers absorbs the dye in another way. The linen fibres won’t take on dye, so these yarns have a very lightly heathered appearance when dyed up.

Each skein is unique and different, therefore the same color way looks different from base to base and even from one skein to the next! To ensure random color distribution, we recommend working with two skeins of yarn at once, alternating every few rows each skein.

Each skein is dyed individually or in small batches with professional acid dyes.

Frequently asked questions

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE THE SKEINS?

Due to space and logistical reasons it is not possible to have all colours in stock. Normally the dyeing takes between 5 to 10 working days. Please note that weather conditions (rain or winter) may slow down my work.

WHEN ARE THE YARNS SHIPPED?

Deliveries are made once a week: Tuesday mornings.

AVAILABILITY

Feliz y Punto is a small workshop, with one person who manages everything. The skeins are not mass produced. Each skein is dyed, washed, skeined, labelled, photographed, packaged and shipped by one person. What I can produce has a limit in the form of time, energy, space and the amount of administration that accompanies each skein.

In the event that:

NOT ENOUGH STOCK – don’t worry, email me at [email protected] and we’ll sort it out.

SOLD OUT: subscribe to the list below the colour. So there are the skeins, you’ll get a notification.

ARE THERE COLOUR DIFFERENCES?

Each skein is dyed with care and love by hand, this means that each skein is unique.

I do my best to make the colours reproducible, however, the nature of hand dyeing will always result in different skeins. No two skeins are ever the same. The process is controllable to a certain extent which, in this sense, makes it so beautiful and unexpected.

I recommend that you secure enough yarn for each project. If there are not enough skeins, I prefer that you write to me at [email protected].

To even out the weave on larger projects, it is recommended that the skeins are alternated every few rows for a more uniform effect.

WILL THE COLOUR BLEED?

Although dyes are carefully set and wools are well rinsed, colour bleeding may occur during the first few washes, especially with very dark and saturated colours.

IMAGE ACCURACY

The utmost care is taken when photographing Feliz y Punto skeins to capture the colour as accurately as possible. Please note that, despite this, colour rendering may vary depending on your computer monitor / display device and/or settings.
