SOLARIS is a personal and exclusive Feliz y Punto yarn. Solaris is composed of mulberry silk and linen, two fibers with many beneficial properties.

We have chosen and gathered in this yarn the best materials to provide you with comfort and well-being in the hottest summer months. The idea of mixing precisely these two qualities is to give the yarn a more modern, versatile character and moderate the brightness of the silk. Both silk and linen have insulating properties: they keep you cool in summer and shelter in winter. If you mix Solaris with a strand of mohair, you’ll get a light but very warm garment for the colder months.

If you mix Solaris with a strand of mohair, you’ll get a light but very warm garment for the colder months. During the dyeing process each of the fibers absorbs the dye in another way. The linen fibres won’t take on dye, so these yarns have a very lightly heathered appearance when dyed up. Solaris is a hand dyed yarn. Each skein is unique and different, therefore the same color way looks different from base to base and even from one skein to the next! To ensure random color distribution, we recommend working with two skeins of yarn at once, alternating every few rows each skein. Can’t find the quantities you need? • 75% mulberry silk, 25% linen
  • 400m/100gr
  • Needels: 2.75 -3,75mm
  • Gauge (3.5mm): 24 sts x 30 rws

Care: wash gently by hand in cold water, do not twist, remove excess water with the help of a towel, block gently, dry flat and in the shade.

Strong colors may bleed very slightly at first. This is because the linen does not hold the dye permanently. This is not a defect.

Frequently asked questions

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE THE SKEINS?

Due to space and logistical reasons it is not possible to have all colours in stock. Normally the dyeing takes between 5 to 10 working days. Please note that weather conditions (rain or winter) may slow down my work.

WHEN ARE THE YARNS SHIPPED?

Deliveries are made once a week: Tuesday mornings.

AVAILABILITY

Feliz y Punto is a small workshop, with one person who manages everything. The skeins are not mass produced. Each skein is dyed, washed, skeined, labelled, photographed, packaged and shipped by one person. What I can produce has a limit in the form of time, energy, space and the amount of administration that accompanies each skein.

In the event that:

NOT ENOUGH STOCK – don’t worry, email me at hola@felizypunto.com and we’ll sort it out.

SOLD OUT: subscribe to the list below the colour. So there are the skeins, you’ll get a notification.

ARE THERE COLOUR DIFFERENCES?

Each skein is dyed with care and love by hand, this means that each skein is unique.

I do my best to make the colours reproducible, however, the nature of hand dyeing will always result in different skeins. No two skeins are ever the same. The process is controllable to a certain extent which, in this sense, makes it so beautiful and unexpected.

I recommend that you secure enough yarn for each project. If there are not enough skeins, I prefer that you write to me at hola@felizypunto.com.

To even out the weave on larger projects, it is recommended that the skeins are alternated every few rows for a more uniform effect.

WILL THE COLOUR BLEED?

Although dyes are carefully set and wools are well rinsed, colour bleeding may occur during the first few washes, especially with very dark and saturated colours.

IMAGE ACCURACY

The utmost care is taken when photographing Feliz y Punto skeins to capture the colour as accurately as possible. Please note that, despite this, colour rendering may vary depending on your computer monitor / display device and/or settings.
